DIY Couture Reversible Rain Jacket

Pattern: DIY Couture

Fabric: Waterproof canvas from spotlight haberdashery section and Mars Bars stash Pink Fleece

Ease: Easy for a Jacket

Tidbits: I wanted to try out this casual jacket style ever since I borrowed this book from the library, and I finally settled on giving it a go when I saw Rachel’s version.

I knew that the thickness and drape of the fabric’s was not ideal, but I really wanted a raincoat, and I really wanted pink and yellow, and, hey, I really wanted to look like a rubber duck : )

I used a denim needle and cut the fleece a little smaller than the outside layer as it stretches. I tried to avoid unneeded stitching in the waterproof layer to keep its integrity but I am really missing the look of top stitching in places.

It poured with rain for the first time in months while we were taking these photos and I can confirm it is completely waterproof and cosy.

I didn’t get any shot of the interior but it is reversible with side seam pockets if I feel the need to be completely pinkified.

Me Rating: 4 out of 5 for the effort to funability ratio!
