Recently I became the proud owner of the Japanese books Drape Drape 2 and Pattern Magic – Stretch. I was pondering which stretch top to make first when One Pattern One Week was underway and MaciNic had chosen no 4 from Drape Drape as her pattern. I was impressed! She has made several wonderful versions so I was decided.
Pattern: Drape Drape no 2 pattern 4 – size L
Fabric: Red – wool jersey, Yellow – blend large amount of stretch
Ease: Easy – 3 seams and a neckband!
Tidbits: I made up the yellow version first and the fabric is super duper drapey. It is interesting to compare the two which are identical except for the neckline.
Lessons: I lifted the neckline a little in the red version and I like it better. I also think you could get a different look by sewing a smaller size, which I might try next time. I should check which size others chose..
Looks pretty good backwards too!
Score: 4/5 Uber comfortable and a touch of style, what’s not to love!
My sister and I are going to watch Kylie in concert next year, and she suggested that I make costumes for us to wear. I was a little unsure until I remembered this pattern from Drape Drape. Remind you of a white Kylie outfit at all? Ha!
