Today is an anniversary for me.  And its the first time I’ve had this anniversary so I  was little unsure of how to respond.

Today is a year since my doctor told me words that knocked me for six, like no words I had ever heard before.  “Unfortunately, it has come back as a cancer.”  Every other word he said that day is a blur, but those words are crystal clear in my mind.

One of the things that happens when you are young and suddenly faced with uncertainty is to re-evaluate your life.  The important things, to the silliest things.

One of the silly things that popped into my head that afternoon was that I had never been to a real live pop concert (excluding East 17 as a teenager, but lets not talk about that…)  I told my sister this and she must have been looking out for opportunities since, as she snaffled up tickets to Kylie as soon as they were released and proclaimed that we would dress up and do the locomotion.

In a lovely twist of fate, the concert is tonight.  On my first cancer-versary.  So I guess it has been decided for me, every year I will celebrate life and the silly things on this day.   So here I am being silly and a wee bit sassy for you.  I hope it makes you smile.

Pattern:  Drape Drape no 2 pattern 11, size L

FabricFrom Georgina who answered the call for some unwanted white knit fabric.

Green Notes: Winning

Ease: Easy aside from the tracing which was huge!

See Also: hmm, cannot find any example of this made up, there must be some, somewhere?

Tidbits and lessons:  I made the pattern up as directed with the exception of leaving the elastic out.  I quite like all the options this gives you for styling.  The front drape is too low to wear without something underneath but I quite like it pinned up.  Here’s how I will wear it when not trying to impersonate Kylie : )

Score: 4/5 everyone needs a little silliness and sass, even if its not the most practical make.
