Little Miss Kidlet wanted to be “matching patching” were her brother on his big day. These apron shorts were just the ticket to use up the tiny scrap of Nani Iro left from his shirt. The two of them walked around the zoo together as bright as bright can be!
Pattern: Cucito Summer 2013
Fabric: Nani-Iro from Shimgraphica + Cotton Twill
Tidbits: My First Japanese Pattern!! My Japanese came back to me and I could read the basics, but that said, the diagrams were so clear I am sure anyone could do it without any knowledge of the language. I have the Japanese Sewing Books blog and Another Dress for giving me all the information I needed to get on and order my first Cucito magazine.
Oppsies: I knew that I needed to add the seam allowance to the traced pattern, but my mum was over, we were chatting, and before I knew it I had cut the entire thing out with no seam allowance. I sewed super close to the edge and they fit well, but next time I am going to draw the allowance on to my traced pattern so there is no chance of forgetting.
Kidlet Rating: 4 Stars – mum loves them, she likes them
